| Home Moorings FeesNews Amenities Location Contact | An Integrated Approach A deliberate effort has been made to integrate the marina and surrounding grounds into the existing character of the countryside. Environmental Ecological Concerns The basin has been designed with soft edges wherever possible, planted with a range of native species. Wader scrapes and ponds are an integral part of the sympathetic development. The island serves to break up the water space and provide more scope for natural growth along the banks. These measures together with a full ecological management program are intended to enhance the environmental value of the area and encourage wildlife. Moorings Care has been taken with the moorings to arrange the pontoons in small communities of around 20 mixed length boats. The pontoons are wide and well spaced with good access, mostly straight from the bank. The exclusive bankside plots, arranged on the periphery of the basin all have private access and some include private car parking. Security The whole basin, moorings and car parks will be separated from general visitors with restricted assess through electronically controlled security gates. Visitors have a dedicated car park near the main building and can access all the quayside amenities, but will not be able to wander round the boats or cars in the marina basin. Currently, there is a gate which is locked everynight at around 5pm and opened around 7am which prevents access to the site from Barby Lane overnight. Every moorer is given a key to the gate, which gives them access at all hours. |
