Steel Delivery the old way!

17 May 2011

This is the first load of many that we will be transporting along the UK’s waterways and although this is far from our only sustainable initiative, it is an extremely exciting step in the build of our marina.

Jeff Whyatt, British Waterways’ manager, comments:
“Freight on the nation’s historic canals and rivers is a welcome sight and a reminder of days
gone by when the canals made Britain great as an industrial nation. Whilst leisure boating
has given our Georgian network of canals a second lease of life, there are still instances
where canal carrying can be economically viable and I welcome this initiative that will take
many lorry journeys off our congested roads.”
