Moorings

A deliberate effort has been made to integrate the marina and surrounding grounds into the existing character of the countryside. The basin has been designed with soft edges wherever possible, and planted with a range of native species. The island serves to break up the water space and provide more scope for natural growth along the banks. It also serves to break pontoons into small communities of around 20 mixed length boats. The pontoons are wide and well spaced with good access, mostly straight from the bank. Our bankside plots are unique within a marina setting and are arranged on the periphery of the basin. All bankside moorings have a private grassed area along side the boat; perfect for dogs to run in, summer barbecues or simply relaxing and watching the world go by.

To support your mooring we also offer coal, calor gas, and diesel for sale.

Access to the marina is restricted by a vehicle barrier with CCTV monitoring across the site.

Types Of Mooring

Pontoon Mooring.

Wide and stable pontoons with mooring for one boat on each side. Each mooring is serviced with electrical power, a frost protected water point and Wifi access, while Dadford and Smeaton pontoons (see site plan for location details) also have access to wired internet. Most pontoons are accessed straight from the bank, however one community of pontoons is attached to the walkway connecting the island to the quay side area. Each mooring will be allocated a secure car parking place nearby.

Bankside Mooring.

This type of mooring is virtually unique within a marina. Your boat is moored alongside your own private leisure plot on the marina bank. Each mooring has access to electrical power, a frost protected water supply and wired internet. The size of the leisure plot varies with the location and some even have car parking space right on the plot.

Winter Storage.

An economic way to store your boat with no frills. Boats are roped side-to-side or “breasted up” within the marina basin. Power is available for trickle charging batteries, space heaters etc. at the standard rate.

Pricing

All fees are charged yearly or monthly in advance with a deposit to be paid to to secure your place. Metered electrical power is charged to your account monthly in arrears and the mooring fee charged is relative to the length of the mooring, irrespective of the length of the boat moored.
